My cousin and I went to the FW Nature Center this morning. It was my first time out there and the first time kayaking there for both of us. We caught one drum, one crappie and one bass. We didn't fish too hard, it was more of an exploratory paddle. We saw one very nice buck, but no gators. It was a very relaxing morning. It's a great place to paddle, especially for being 15 minutes from home. Here are a couple pics.

FWNC is about 1 mile from my front door as the crow flies... Been there many times to photograph big deer, but never paddled it yet.

Those are some fine photos, Adam. Thanks for sharing 'em. FWNC is very close to me, too, but I have not visited there, yet.

Thanks guys. I will definitely be heading back out there soon.

TexasSteve, I don't think they allow camping. Here is the website:
http://www.fwnaturecenter.org/

They do charge $5 per person to get in, but that's cheaper than many boat ramps.

Get the year pass. It's well worth it.
