The 4th stop of the 2012 Bass Pro Shop Grapevine Series was at Lake Lewisville today (May 12th) as (36) teams competed on a cool and windy day. Anglers were greeted by overcast skies and strong winds throughout the day from the north. I would like to thank all of the anglers who joined us today, and a special thank you to all of the new anglers that fished this series for the first time today. Welcome, and we look forward to seeing you all on May 27th when the series returns to the Vine!
Brandon Dillard teamed up with long-time fishing partner BJ Gammons to seal his first BPS Grapevine Series win with 16.77 limit anchored by a 5.57 kicker. Wes Price and Mike Vasquez took second with a strong 16.09 finish that also included the Bass Pro Shop BIG BASS Bonus, a 6.53 bass to sieze the cash and the $200.00 BPS Gift Card. Brandon Dickensen and Ryan McGrail continued to be formidible taking third with 16.00 even. Jay Shipe fished solo on his way to a fourth place finish with 13.39. Evan Vidal and Justin Dubose enjoyed another strong top-five finish taking fifth with 12.94. Joe Rome and Joel McBride lost their big motor mid-afternoon, but grinded out a sixth place finish with 12.77. Rounding out the top-seven was Doug Dalton who boated 12.54.
