I have a 2004 200 mercury xr6 I have a little trouble starting it... Once it gets going its ok but when I stop and drop the trolling motor for more than 20 mins I notice that all the pressure in the primer bulb is gone... So i have to prime the bulb again till its full and I have trouble starting it all over again..... Any ideas on what u think it is or needs to be done? Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!!

I'm no expert but you may have a crack in the line or bulb somewhere that would be a cheap place to start anyway. How old is the fuel line and bulb?

If the fuel lines are good, check the pulse pump. It's the low pressure fuel pump on the side of the block. It may need new diaphrams. $20 in parts and 30 min of time.

Me too, I'll keep that in mind. My 2003 XR6 has always had the problem of losing the gas/pressure in the bulb, if I tilt the motor up while fishing, or even just fishing a long time without running it, especially in hot weather. I also have to prime it for a count to 50 when I start it in the morning. After that it runs good.

if I tilt the motor up while fishing,. [/quote]

When I do this it dumps the gas out of the carbs. To start I have to get gas back in the carb again. If the motor has already been warmed up it can be easy to flood.
I usually choke it a short bit then crank steady. It will usually fire. If I choke for too long it wil flood.

IF the bulb is a aftermarket IE:attwood, moeler, tempo ect. I dont care if its a year old or a day old chunk it and put a OEM bulb on it you can feel the differnce

what kind of fuel are you using the fuel will brake down the fuel line inside and let air in without leaking fuel. This is the line all the way back to the tank. you my have to replace all line and bulb.
