Texas High School Fishing Championship Set For March 25 on Lake Lavon

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PONCA CITY, Okla. (Mar. 5, 2012) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, and the Allen Convention & Visitors Bureau announced it will host the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) Texas High School Fishing State Championship. The event will be Sunday, March 25 on Lake Lavon launching out of the Collin Park Marina Ramp near Allen, Texas. A unique element of the event is it will follow the Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) Cabela’s Collegiate Big Bass Bash, held on Lake Lavon Friday and Saturday.

The championship is a two person team event open to all students in grades 9 -12. Anglers DO NOT have to attend the same high school and having a high school fishing club is NOT required to fish in this event. Registration for anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is online at HighSchoolFishing.org. Check-in begins at 5:30pm CST on Saturday, March 24, at the Cabela’s Store in Allen, Texas with a mandatory rules briefing at 7pm CST. We highly encourage all teams to preregister online or by phone in advance to avoid late registration fees.
