If you have casting decks, like most bass boats, you can always flush mount to the floor. Which is what I did. Then, the screw holes are in the carpet, not the metal.

I made some hardwood blocks to fit under the lip and space the rod holders out so that they could be mounted. The blocks will look OK if they are finished out and painted grey.

Fish on rod holders have 2 different mounting apps I believe. Or +1 on the blocks. Starboard is weather resistant. 3/4" from west marine

not really a fan of beeready's, not ideal for my boat, and how i use it. i have thought about the wooden block idea only problem atwood's go on backwards then turn 180 degrees to lock which leaves the rod holder sticking out off the edge about 5 inches. my be a problem i will just have to live with...

Your Lowe must be different than the ones I have seen. Post a pic of where you are wanting to mount these holders.

I mounted the rod holders to a 2x4 and just use C-clamps to hold the rodholders on the top rail (mine is flat) of my alum boat. This way I can take off the 2x4 when I am not going bait fishing.
