Just seen these images from Terry Brown of Wired2Fish at Ranger Product Knowledge Event and they show the new Talon Fold Down Bracket that will be coming soon. It is designed to fold down when not roading or running down the lake. Like backing into a garage or getting under a low clearance bridge, trees, etc. MinnKota has listened to it's owners once again and provides a solution to Talon Owners needs. What for more details coming in 2012! Talon Folded Down: Talon Folded Up: Photos Courtesy of Terry Brown from Wired2Fish.

Thanks for posting. Simple, reliable solution. You just cost the other folks at least a few sales. The Talon fold down issue was really the only disadvantage I had observed over the outdated "fluid pumps/hoses crowded into the bilge" design. Waiting for 2012.

That is very nice, but after purchasing a power pole 3 years ago with no problems it's hard to switch.

problem is its an "add on" feature and you have to pay for it, powerpole can just be lowered. Now if Talon starts coming with this feature standard then it would be a selling point, until then its still a disadvantage unfortunately.

So the Talons increased holding force, self contained system with no extra equipment to mount in the boat, Wave Absorption included and Auto Drive (3 set sequence) are all standard features that you have to purchase on other brands. Not everyone needs to lower for clearance but for those that do MinnKota has an option for them. I guess they could raise the price and include for everyone but if you don't need why pay for it??? To me having the option is best for the fold down bracket.
