Ron Casner (canyonking) and I spent 8 great hours on this little gem. He has never fished the lake b4 and I told him he was in for a real treat. Several 3-5 lbers were mixed in with a few under the 14 inch size. All the bass we caught are fat and healthy

Lake conditions as follows: water level is about 4 ft down, temps running from 87-99, water color is clear to slightly stained.

Hydrilla covers 1/3 of the north
end in water down to 6 ft and
very healthy.

Two patterns we stuck to were an
early top water on poppers such
as a storm chugbug and and a 3/16 oz spinnerbait.

Second pattern, a Hags F5 texas rigged fished in sparse hydrilla near the creek channel in the same area.

Bass are very active right now all
over the lake. All in all 45-50 bass caught.

Bugs, when you said the ramp was an issue, is it just the steepness of it, or did you fall off the end?

Yes its very steep, but the area just at end of the ramp is extremely shallow, more like a sand bar. Thats the best i can explain it.

Did you happen to go in the last pocket on the left headed towards the cold water intake?Last year the grass didn't grow down there like the year before.

One more bit of info, as you run south of the ramp several stumps are making their appearance in the middle of the area of cooling towers as most who would run wide open, best to take it slow.

I have never seen Welsh this low.

No grass south. Checked it out after work and only fished that side. The ramp is a little tough. You have to back in at a 45 to get the trailer level when loading. Also, the blowout behind the ramp is to the point you have to go into neutral to keep from dragging the bottom. There are a couple extra stumps in the middle and like always, the usual ones float at an angle and are still barely visible. There's a new one to me before the last point before the intake cove. Someone drove in some rebar, which will make it worse when the lake comes up. I'll try to put a noodle or something on it the next time through unless one of you guys reading this beats me to it.
