The 2011 Fishing for Freedom will be held on Lake Belton on Oct 15. This is a wonderful time to show appreciation to a soldier. There are NO Entry fees. Boaters are responsible for all boating expenses. There is a free BBQ for all participants the evening before at the Killeen Civil Center. Registration is open and more info can be obtained at http://www.fishingforfreedom.org/Hope to see you there.

I might add there there are several nice raffles at the BBQ dinner (last year included a power pole, Minn Kota Fortrex trolling motor, guide trips, etc) and there are prizes for the top teams to include a boat for the winning team.

This is a great event. This years goal is 300 teams and at last count it was at around 223 teams with 40 soldiers still waiting for a boater. Lets see if we can get these guys a partner and at the same time help move a little closer to this years goal. Along with the great BBQ on Friday night, the great raffles, the guest speakers (Alton Jones) and Pro's pointers, Texas Boat World, Marine Outlet, Tightlines PFT and Sure Strike Guide Service and Boat Detailing are now offering additional savings to all boaters that have registered for this event. To register or to get more information on Fishing For Freedom go to www.fishingforfreedom.org or stop by and see Cliff at Texas Boat World, Rick at Marine Outlet, Rodney or Dean at Tightlines PFT or call Henry at 254-368-0294. See you on the water.

There is no age limit on you boat or even the kind you have. All that is required is that you sign up, get paired with a soldier and have a great day of fishing. To get signed up visit fishingforfreedom.org or you can stop by and register at Texas Boat World in Killeen or Marine Outlet in Temple. See you on the water.

Sounds about right. I am sure that there are 40 boaters out there just waiting to sign up. This event is coming up fast so don't wait. This is a great tournament, loads of fun and you could win a new Triton Boat.
