Should this boat do more than 39mph with this setup ? Do I need a jack plate.Is there a special prop I need to be using ?? Help !!!

How long? V Hull or the modified john boat front? Width of boat? My 16.5 long fiberglass with a 90 will do about 37-39 on a smooth lake. My prop is pretty rough though. I don't run it wide open very often. 25-30 is good for me. Uses too much gas WOT.
Put the plug in.

i have a 17' xpress w/75honda......45mph@5500 rpm.....according to the speedo.....hope this helps.......
