We got a late start this morning waiting on the weather to go through. Got on the water around 9am headed straight out too a area that has been good to me lately. No surfacing action but we were catching them slabing in about 13 to 15 foot. That played out so we moved south to check the ridge, not much so then I checked a hump and we picked up some there as well. Then I was ready to check another couple of humps and we decided to troll so I broke out the hell-benders and we boated some nice size keepers. I kept making fish on this one hump so I slabbed that hump and we did good there to.We picked up two back to back doubles being keepers as well. That slowed so I decided to check the hump on the way out and we picked few more there. Then it was time to head in so I checked one slope on the way out and we picked up a few more there. The fished caught slabbing was in depth from 13 foot of water to 21 foot. Over all we caught 75-80 with 32 keepers. Slabbing with "OLE UGLY'S" with a fly tied above. Color of choice was char and white with char fly.

I hope you leave a few fish for me when I get home. I am impressed the way fishing has remained good this summer. I think it is being caused by the tremendous amount of water coming into Eagle Mountain from bridgeport and cedar creek and richland chambers. They have used the pipeline more this year. I see where Eagle Mountain has come up a quarter of a foot the last three weeks, That has taken a lot of water coming in to raise the water level with the temperture we were having. WTG Frank. Johnny

Thanks again Frank for the help and advice.
I made my first trip to EM today and met Frank. He was very gracious with a newbie to the lake and pretty much to catching sand bass. I have caught them but they were by catch when I was going after hybrids. It took me most of the day to figure out how to slab for sandies, but I managed to put 7 in the box. For me, that's doing good! I expect to improve as time goes by. Frank gave me some good tips and I really appreciate it.
I really liked EM - nice lake - and plan on spending more time there.

Glad you got a few Richard. You will like EM the more you fish. It can be a great lake but it can hang one on you also. Johnny

Way to go Frank ![thumb thumb](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif) . Sounds like you got on them again. I better get with you and find out what I missed. It sounds like things were a little more normal today. If you call rain normal for around here? Hope you have a great day with the wife tomorrow.
