hey guys im new to TFF i love it!!Im going to portA next week and i need some pointers.. im new to coastal fishing.i need yalls help.. first of all equipment i have a shakespeare 6'6" sturdy stick with a shakesspeare "Aresenal"model# AR20GR reel . Also looking at buying a 14'Daiwa regal silver 6129 rod paired with a Zebco sw80 for $50.what is yalls opinion on that set up also need help on line(test, braided?)bait and or lures, weight types and sizes. thanks guys...

It really depends on what species ur after. I'm not real familiar with either set up but they both sound like they'll work. You can't go wrong with dead shrimp as far as catching lots of fish. Chunk it between the second and third sandbar and you will catch some fish. Good luck maybe someone else will chime in with a little more insight

Looks like you have the necessary equipment. make sure you take care to rinse off and lube your reels after use in the saltwater to keep em working correctly.
Use the "Search" option on the top of the web page. It'll help plenty. Port A area has been covered much in the recent past.

Depending what this storm does depends on if you'll catch much. Spider weight, 7/0 circle hook on a leader and a chunk of mullet or whiteing and you'll likely catch a red or shark in the surf. Have Fun!
