Do you know there is a 2 day open tourney at Hubbard creek that same weekend? It pays 1 in 5 so it may be hard to get teams. Just FYI

Yes I do realize there is one but I'm just doing this one because some people can't do a two day. This is just Sunday only so who ever can make it come and have fun we should have around 8 to 10 boats.

I think my father in law, bro in law and a friend are going to come out! Adds two more boats to the mix! Would be nice if it paid per 5 teams instead of 8. Ten teams could do a 300 1st and 200 second imo.
I fish to live, not live to fish!

Ought to make the fence off limits. From what I understand people are going, tying up and staying there all day. Come on, thats kinda ridiculous, go find some fish! Just my opinion.

Ought to make the fence off limits. From what I understand people are going, tying up and staying there all day. Come on, thats kinda ridiculous, go find some fish! Just my opinion. Maybe we should make all the community holes off limits i.e. weigh-in cove at Eddleman, Jaycee park, the channel, south of dam, the island, etc. I mean, we all know there are fish at those spots. I'm guessing that Davy Hite and 12 other Elite pros didn't want to set in one spot for four consecutive days at the best known community hole in America at Pickwick lake. Pretty sure they know how to go find some fish. But,since that was their best option that was not off-limits, they chose to fish it knowing someone else would be in their spot if they were not there. (Not comparing this to the pros at all. Just making a point) I did tie up during the Sat Cowtown Media tournament and fished almost all day there. I didn't want to, but I felt I could catch more fish there than other spots I had and knew if I wasn't there, someone else would be. Boats checked that spot every few minutes it seemed and several stopped to fish it close by only to find they weren't biting and left. It was a grind and was not very fun. It was also a gamble that didn't pay off. I also find it funny how people talk about it being ridiculous to fish there, but how many times I've seen them racing over there when they don't have a full limit. I've seen it a lot. I'm fine with making it off-limits and would almost prefer it. But if I know I'm not going to catch 10 to 12 pounds and it's not off-limits, I would be crazy not to fish it. Someone else will be if I'm not. Probably some that think it's ridiculous. Stewart Herndon 806.661.9303

In this tournament there are no off limits the only thing I ask is obey the laws on the lake and have fun. You can fish the fence just dont take your boat inside the fence. And good luck should be some good fish at weigh in.

What about weigh-in at noon instead of 2pm?

Wow, didn't mean to make anyone upset! Was just saying. Pretty much everything on that lake is community. Obviously some know more than others because I don't know some of the community places mentioned in previous post. Or maybe I know them as other names. Hope ya'll have a good time, I have a club tournament that day or I would be there. Unfortunately ill be at Bridgeport. Hopefully ill get in on the next one. Good luck to ya'll

Hey The Dude. I really am not trying to make this a big deal, but I was called ridiculous for the way I fished on a public forum. I was trying to defend myself.
I have heard rumblings from some about how ridiculous it is to fish that spot and am just a little confused. Is it ok to just go over there when you need a fish or two? Are you supposed to leave after so many minutes?
Most who have fished with me over the years know I pick one or two spots and fish the heck out of them in a day. I find that to suit my style of fishing better than running from bank to bank to hump to whatever, hoping to stumble across five good fish. I like finding them and figuring out how to make them bite when others can't. I rarely do that, but I try. I see that spot as no different than fishing long periods in the cove where everybody throws fish back after weigh in. Those fish are there, but you still have to figure out how to catch the highly pressured big ones to win. If someone could explain to me why it is ridiculous, I will be glad to stop fishing there.
I do hope you have a good day at Bridgeport. Catch a big one. Feel free to call me and discuss this anytime.
Sincerely,
Stewart Herndon 806.661.9303
