Hi guys:
I'm a fair weather fisherman. I have a 4'8" ugly stik that I love. The tip eyelet has "worn-out" an causes the line to fray. I would like to replace the rod tip. New rod eyelets are $2.00 and a new ugly stik is $39.00.
Questions: 1. how do I get the old eyelet tip off without damaging the rod. 2. how do I know what size (diameter) tip I need. 3. what do I use to keep the new eyelet tip on. (super glue, gorilla glue)
Thanks in advance pointingdogsrule

Gently heat the guide with a cigarette lighter or alchol lamp pull the old one off just watch you don't use too much heat. Get some ferrell cement or bow fletching glue heat the glue sticl and put some cement insid and slide on rod. As far as size thake the old one with you when you go to get another or mich the rod and figure the size in 64ths.

Just check the size and do not put one on too loose and by all means do not wittle down the tip to fit a smaller one (LOL). Put the glue on the rod itself and rotate the new tip on to make sure you get glue on all sides. Wipe off the excess and smooth the edges and remove the stringers with heat.
