While walking the Dogs this morning, the Wife and I notice something very odd. NO WIND! We quickly made a couple sandwiches, hitched up the boat and headed to Lavon. As we approached Lavon, our excitement began to wane. You guessed it, the dang wind was howling again. We launched at Mallard Park and fished the East side of the rocks on the Rail Road Bridge. We caught literally dozens of short fish. We went under the Bridge and fished the rocks on the windy side, and I do mean windy! We picked up a few legal fish but released everything that wasn't injured. Next we made a run over to the Glass House. We fished numerous spots that were out of the wind, both East and West of the Glass House. That area produced not one single bite. We headed back to Mallard Park and again fished the Windy or West side rocks. We found a couple drop offs and fished those areas as the wind actually appeared to lay down a bit. We picked up several 13 inch fish but the action was too slow and we wanted some bigger fish. We made a rough run about a mile or so North of the Power Plant. I wanted to fish a couple submerged trees we had caught fish on a week or so ago. That area was NOT at all sheltered and my trolling motor ran wide open to keep us on our target. It was worth the effort though. Just a little over and hour on those trees produced some real quality fish. We left them biting in 10-12 feet of water. We ended the day with 28 fish. We had nine fish that were between 14 and 15 inches. Janice really had fun, and so did I. Can't wait to go again!! All fish were caught on plastic in sort of a rusty orange color. They really liked Blue and White last time we went, but not today. The spawn appears to be all but done.

good stuff there

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

wow, yall slayed the dragon for sure!!!

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
