There was a meeting about in granbury not too long ago. I didn't get to go but i would like to hear about it. The paper made it sound like it was just a way to "control" it, not an actual cure. I could make an aggie joke...but I won't ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif)

If an aggie finds it, I will gladly quit giving them a hard time. ![banana banana](/forums/images/graemlins/default/banana.gif)

Copper Sulfate will kill it but it's not so good for public drinking water supplies and it would take a lot for a decent sized lake.

My understanding is that hay or straw layed out over the top of the water will keep the GA from blooming but doesn't actually kill it...

I had heard that they can get rid of GA but it is alot cheaper to just restock the lakes. Thats just what i heard.

The hay really didn't get it done they couldn't replicate the same type of findings that they orginally punlished out in california from the test. Did this testing at the Dundee state fish hatchery just below Lake diversion. I know it was my one of my first jobs as a college gradaute. I had to do all the dropping in and digging out the hay from the test ponds. Thats right I was a gopher with a biology degree my job was alot of the manual Labor.
