Hey Guys, I fish tradinghouse creek reservoir in Waco, Im a poor college student so all I have is a inflatable row boat and tackle ( no motor, fish/depth finder, ect,). I have been fishing the same cove since early march where I was having decent results. I got a 4lb in early march and since then the fish have gotten smaller and smaller to where I am only catching 6 inchers each time I go out. Should I try and move out into deeper water for better fish even though I'm pretty much going blind? Also do u usually use jigs or Texas rig in deeper water? (if jig, do u add anything to it?)

I've never fished your lake but I have a hard time believing there aren't still quite a few fish up shallow.

You might have success throwing bigger lures.

I usually throw plastic crawdads, in about 3-4ft of water along the reed beds, if the don't bite I switch to mini worms ( and get the six inchers), the middle of the cove is a lil deeper, like 6 ft, but not as much cover ( that I can see anyways). I bought some lizards a couple weeks ago but have had no luck with them.

Try slow rolling spinnerbaits through the area and along the reeds. Back when I was at baylor we use to do pretty good on that main point that juts out there close to the power plant out on the main lake. Its a shallow point with deeper water close to it.

Its been my experience on TH that the bass bury up in the reeds (assuming there's enough water) since that's the only cover available. I've caught very little off shore on that lake. Try pitching a weightless senko into the pockets and open spaces in the reeds.

went out this evening and started out with a 6" plastic lizard, to my surpise i caught a good size white crappie, then after awhile put on a plastic worm and caught a decent size black crappie, no bass though ![frown frown](/forums/images/graemlins/default/frown.gif) . i switched between the lizard, worm, and a big white spinner bait and no bass. i will say that i only have been fishing in the evenings (bc of class and work) maybe i should try the morning this weekend?
