I know a lot of you fish at the Pass and we would love to have your support on Saturday. We also have a facebook page now, www.facebook.com/rolloverpass where we try to keep you updated with the latest fishing reports down there. Here's the information for Saturday:

In efforts to keep Rollover Pass a clean and safe place to fish, the Gilchrist Community Association will hold a Spring Clean Up on April 9th from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Volunteers are encouraged to wear their work clothes, a pair of gloves and get ready to get dirty! "Over the years, the biggest complaint we have heard is about the trash. Last fall, we held a clean up that was such a success and had great feedback from fisherman that we have decided to start a tradition," board member Amanda Reynolds said. A bill was passed by the state of Texas that would allow the General Land Office to close the pass, but the Gilchrist Community Association is constantly continuing to work to keep the Pass open. There will also be a crawfish boil held Saturday afternoon and all proceeds from the fundraiser will directly benefit Rollover Pass. "Unfortunately, it costs the GCA money to keep the Pass open and free to everyone," Reynolds said, "so we rely on memberships, donations and fundraisers to help keep this popular fishing spot open." Plates of crawfish and potatoes and corn will be sold for $10/plate and additional pounds will be sold for $5/pound from 12:00pm-5:00pm. As a thank you for volunteering to help clean up Saturday morning, volunteers will be first in line and receive a FREE plate of crawfish from the Gilchrist Community Association. Reynolds encourages everyone to come out and support, whether by helping clean or purchasing a plate of crawfish. "Rollover Pass is a place where people share old memories and create new ones. We want to make sure that they have that opportunity in years to come."
