Today, Saturday, hit the lake with Texasfivegun, bartmam, my son and his buddy. At 2:00 pm water temp was showing 60-65* throughout the whole lake. Looked around sunken island. Saw some folks anchored up so headed south. Put out the spread and drug around Sandbass point, marked a few but didn't snag a thing. Headed down toward crappie island, stopping just northwest and set out the spread. Moving in a southwest direction, we marked loads of shad in 20-30' water but didn't get a hit till we pulled through about 24' got a couple almost magnum sandies and two 17" hybrids. Continued toward east dam area and got multiple hits from sandies and 17"-25" hybrids.

Today 03-20, we started fishing where we left em biting yesterday. East end of dam in 45-60 ft of water. We were getting good fish out in the middle of nowhere, go figure! Anyway, yesterday, lots or birds plenty of bite, today, no birds and only a few bites. We onlystayed there for about 30-45 min and were off back to the north. Looked around Key ranch and spotted many fish and lots of baits but didn't appear to be feeding. From there we headed to spillway humps.

Found birds working sporadically and marked fish from 30' up towards the surface. Theses appeared to be feeding and the birds confirmed. Hit 9 magnum sandies and pulled 3 hybrid from 17", 20", 24".

Water today, all over was 60*-66* believe it or not. The cooler water was out in midlake warmer around Big Chief. Nearly all fish caught on blue and white speckeldy grubs on a 3/4 head. and nearly always on the upwind side of structure.

Looks like it's getting better every day
Worked this area, in 45-60 ft water the rest of the day, putting a hybrid in the box, here and there. Watching birds, hit at shad but never lasting more than a few moments.

Sun was shining, wind was tolerable, we only saw a very few boats. Fish were biting somewhat. Actually the best of the year so far.

Ended this day with 15 sandies over 14" and 21 hybrids from 17"-25". Kept five hybrids that were over 20", and 10 sandies over 14", turning the rest back to get bigger for another day.
