I just moved here last month from Cali fresh oughta the marines and ready to fish till I cnt fish anymore ...I've done a little bass fishing in Cali but not much time.I did hit up a pond in Keller with a buddy of mine and warned him catch a nice 5 pnder...I'm geared up and ready to go..anyone have any spots or ponds tht could get me started ...what baits techniques etc. I know the basics just need some ideas...I'm in dfw. Google Earth can be your best friend when lookin for local waters to fish! I have found a few ponds close to my house that I never knew were there! What area in DFW are you in?

Rowlett Creek is a fine fishery. Best thing you could do to learn anything about that is read the annual white or sand bass fishing post. Very good info. Into crappie? Read the forums on it. Ponds? Same thing.
There are spillways on all the lakes to fish not to mention bank fishing around the lakes.
I take it you're after black bass only?
Nice to have you back in one piece.

I live in nth richland hills. I fish for anything that'll bite mostly bass and crappie but I'm open to anything. No boat so limited to bank fishing for now. Thanks for the info

Look up collyville nature center on goole maps. its not far from you. hit up the long pond that runs between the house's. I caught a few 3 pounders out of there using white 1/4 oz roadrunners. Welcome to TFF and good luck!
