HI USA-1
To be more specific on answering your question about the split grip application. The HawgSnatcher component will fit on some of the split grips. I know some of the new Loomis rods that have a foregrip of approx. 5-6inch, it fits on nice. It would depend on the size of the foregrip and where the reel seat is positioned on that particular rod.
Most anglers are aware of the reason that the manufacturers have come out with the split grip baitcast rods. To promote sensitivity and their main goal was to make them lighter.
Many avid bass anglers believe that after fishing for 8-10 a day holding up a rod, it is the weight of the rod that causes arm fatigue, injuries, etc...
Based on our research, the main cause of arm fatigue while pertaining to fishing with a baitcast combo, is not the weight of the rod that causes the fatigue, considering that light-weight technologies have been around for the last few years, it is the reel palming method that is the cause.
With this style, reel palming is the most comfortable way to hold and retrieve your rod. However, because of the lack of leverage provided, you are forced to constantly squeeze the reel in all aspects of the retrieval process, especially when setting the hook and fighting your fish. The squeezing pressure on your fingers, hands, wrists, forearms and elbows is constant, which can lead to all kinds of injuries. The reel squeezing is the main cause of arm fatigue ... not the weight!
With our component, you really do not have to squeeze the reel at all. Imagine having all the leverage you need with one-hand. You can could even let go of your thumb all together during retrieval, because the power flange will provide all the leverage you will need. Try the HawgSnatcher on one of your tradition long handled baitcasting rods, and then use a different rod and see which one you prefer. We believe, you will fall in love with the HawgSnatcher w/Power Flange!
Also, If you are part of the TFF Fishing Staff, let me know if a feww of the guys would like some free samples, I would be glad to send out a few.
