Fishing Report, November 9, 2010
It is really good to be back and on the lake again! I have been fishing for a couple weeks now getting back in sync with the fish. I can say that the crappie, black bass and white bass are active and aggressive. Early fall offers perfect conditions for fish and fisherman, however timing is everything. Fishing prior to the front will make more difference than summer fishing. I am fishing for the next four days; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday will be fantastic and Saturday after the front will be tough. We have been catching black bass everywhere. They are right where they are supposed to be, on the bank and hitting spinner baits and soft plastics. The frog bite has also been good. This is the way bass fishing is supposed to be. It won’t be this good again until mid spring.
It seems that everyone wants to crappie fishing. So lets go! We have been catching crappie in the major creeks on jigs and minnows, however right now they seem to favor minnows a bit more. The concentration of fish is in 14 to 15 ft of water and hitting from 6 to 7 ft. up. The crappie were so aggressive that we had several chase our bait up as we lifted it to move. Saturday we were targeting crappie but caught a good number of white bass and catfish, keeping things jumping all day. The other bonus is that there were very few boats on the water. We saw only two other boats on Saturday’s trip
(opening morning for deer season).
Sunday afternoon we fished below the dam on the river and caught a mixed bag of stripers, catfish and white bass. We were fishing fresh shad for the catfish and would throw top waters at schooling fish when they came up.
I know this is duck and deer season but save a few days to fish. You won’t regret it
Call me to book a trip.
