Plano Marine in an arrangement with Crappie Anglers of Texas (CAT) announces Plano Marine's Nov 20, 2010 Crappie Challenge at Lake Lavon

Plano Marine's Challenge will be an all cash crappie tournament paying a minimum of five places with an additional promotional $500 cash bonus ($400, places 1-5 and $100 for big fish). Plano Marine will be displaying a variety of boats during the tournament. The public is invited to come out and 'touch and feel' the boats.

Crappie Anglers of Texas would like to take this opportunity to announce Plano Marine is the headline sponsor for CAT's Y2011 Tournament Trail. CAT and Plano Marine will kickoff this new partnership with a joint meeting/seminar that will be held at Plano Marine's impressive facilities on Tuesday, Nov 16, 2010, from 6-9pm.

Important: this meeting/seminar replaces CAT's previously announced meeting for Nov 8 at the Carrollton Library. The board election night will change accordingly. The online voting via email has been extended to 3pm, Nov 16. If you do not vote via email, you must be present for your vote to be counted. Ballots for Y2010 CAT members will be available at the meeting/seminar.

Paul O'Bier, three time Angler of the Year/Y2010 Texas State Crappie Champion and Jerry Hancock, Y2008 Texas State Crappie Champion will conduct a special seminar on spider rigging. A fully equipped boat set up for spider rigging will be demonstrated.

Additionally, a drawing for door prizes for attendees that visit and register at the Parts and Service Dept will be drawn including three fishfinders: Humminbird 141C (1), Eagle Cuda (2).

QUICK FACTS:
  • Lake: Lake Lavon
  • Tournament Director: Paul O'Bier
    • All inquiries should be directed to Paul at 972-816-2481
  • Weigh-in held at Collin Park Marina
    www.collinpark.com
    2200 Saint Paul Rd
    Wylie, TX 75098-8010
    972) 442-3567
  • Date/Time: November 20, 2010 7:am (line in water) - 2:00pm (line out of water) - 2:30pm (must be in weigh-in line, no exceptions)
  • CAT Rules are in play with the following exceptions:
    • Open tournament (no divisions) $50 per one or two angler team
    • Payout for teams placing first thru fifth
    • No pre-fish days limitation
    • Guide rule is waived
    • This is an OPEN tournament; CAT membership is not required
  • Tournament rules (exceptions noted above) and entry forms are available at Crappie Anglers of Texas Tournament Rules
    • The tournament registration form can be downloaded and printed in advance to expedite sign up. CAT's online payment system cannot be used. This is an all cash tournament (no checks, credit cards, etc.). Exact cash will be appreciated by the tournament director.
    • Early registration is available at the Nov 16 meeting/seminar at Plano Marine.
    • Late registration is available at Collin Park Marina ramp between 6-6:30am Saturday, Nov 20
    • Weigh maximum of seven (7) fish; fish must be alive
    • Teams are responsible for reading and knowing all rules

CAT Board of Directors realizes the change for CAT's regular meeting date/venue may cause an inconvenience to some members. It was only after careful consideration it was decided the joint activity and date/venue change would be of greater benefit for the club.

Reminder: The meeting/seminar/drawings are open to the public. If you're looking for or considering a boat and/or interested to learn more about crappie, this is an ideal setting to accomplish both. Chairs are very limited. Please bring your personal seating or prepare to stand.

We hope to see you there.

      Benny Ray
      Owner Plano Marine

      Jimmy Leonard
On behalf of Crappie Anglers of Texas (CAT)
