Plenty of places around here. In Beaumont you can go to the salt water barrier. Go east on Lucas and take a left at Bigner Rd. Follow the road all the way down (it curves to the right then back to the left) and you will see the parking lot on the right.

hey! I am in the same situation. I moved to the states over 8 weeks ago and landed in Beaumont. Since I can't do much yet in relation to work i picked up fishing. But finding some good spots seems to be difficult without a boat. If riding a bit is no prob... I tend to go to Bridge city or pleasure island.

There are lots of places. Do you want salt or fresh water?

At the time I prefer salt water. Thats what I have been fishing so far. Mainly with shrimp or live bait and a little crabbing on the side.

from beaumont take us hwy 69 south towards port arthur. then take hwy 73. then take hwy 82 to hwy 87 south. that should take you past the refineries. after that just start looking around. there are quite a few places where you can park and fish. i like the little cut between keith lake and intercoastal myself.

Yea I have been there with my wife at night. I had to look at the map to see what you were referring to and she told me we have been there before. Usually it was in combination with Pleasure Island. I have seen a gator swim up to me there, was very cool. =)

Might want to take note of that too. The further east you go, the more gators you'll see. For every one you see , there are 2 more nearby that you cannot see. Take it from a south Louisiana fisherman....be careful. They can and will snatch you off a low bank in an instant. If you want to see lots of gators...cross over into Louisiana at Sabine pass...drive the coast to Holly beach and take a left ( north) on LA Hwy 27 in the summer. DO NOT stop and get out of your car unless you are in one of the recreation areas. This stretch of road is called "Alligator alley"...between Holly beach and Hackberry, LA. Great place to take gator photos on both sides of the road in the ditches.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

oh! I might just do that one time. Photography is a sure hobby of mine. I would love to capture them on pics. And from the car is even better...no risk of loosing limbs or worse ;-)
