Cedar Creek Lake

CAT's first qualifier for the 2011 tournament trail will be held on a versatile lake holding crappie on bridges, docks, and brushpiles. Fishing should be excellent this time of year. Come have fun with CAT for some promising good crappie fishing.

  Tom Finley Park, which is on the 334 Bridge between Gun Barrel City and Seven Points on the island in the middle of this bridge. For those of you that don�t know, a work barge struck the 334 Bridge between Gun Barrel City and Seven Points last week and seriously damaged the bridge. TXDOT isn�t saying anything, but there is a possibility that this repair is not a permanent fix and that the bridge could be closed again at any time with little or no notice. A last-minute change may have to be made. The TD will let participants know if there is a weigh-in venue change.

The seminar for the October 12 meeting features a short tutorial on Lowrance fishfinders followed by an in-depth presentation including interactive Q&A on how to get much more out of your unit(s) and tweaks you may not know about. Actual sonar pictures will be presented and explained. Doug Yates with Bass Pro Shops Garland will give the seminar. Doug will also have the latest update available for HDS units to download if you bring your unit. A limited number of battery/power cord connectors will be availble so bring yours if you can. I'm sure you will find Doug thoroughly knowledgeabe in all things sonar much as I did a few weeks ago.

The meeting is open to the public. It will be held October 12, 2010 at the Carrollton Library, NE corner of Hebron and Josey Lane, 6pm � 9pm. There will be some neat items for the raffle as well.

Come join us for an informative crappie fishing session that will help us all put more fish in the livewell.

I would love to fish this tournament, but my 2011 Lund is still at the dealership waiting to be ordered, and my 1197 is still in the box (and at the store). If anybody wants to fish it and needs a partner to split the costs, PM me. I've fished the lake about 10 times and while I can't shoot docks like Chuck Rollins, I can hold my own.

Sure there will be a lot of good fisherman @ this one. Less than a week away and not much information or posts about the tourney here or on the CAT forum. Guess we will have to wait for the CAT seminar to be over. Wondering minds want to know.

What other info do you need Dave? If we're missin' something we need to get it out there.
