I presently have an HB 788Ci/Combo and would like to buy and install a HB 581i/Combo on the bow of my NITRO..The 581i/Combo cost about $349.00....I'm thinking that I'm going to have to also purchase an AS Interlink unit at a cost of $129.00 in order to share waypoints between the two units...Any suggestions or better solutions to my need to keep the cost of the bow unit and wayoint sharing down?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the HB 581i is not networkable. Only the 700 series and up are networkable.

You are correct - 500 series cannot be networked. The 581 retails for $350. The closed monochrome unit would be the 728 for $200. Doesn't have any maps but you can network them and see you waypoints on a grid for navigation/fishing. Next closest would be the 788 which is color/gps for $650.
