Lake O' the Pines (LOP) Qualifier

CAT's 4th qualifier for 2010 will be held on beautiful LOP, lake of many crappie, large crappie and beautiful crappie. LOP is one of the most scenic lakes in Texas. Come join us in some fun tournament crappie fishing.

  Alley Creek Day Use Area. Alley Creek is just west of Johnson Creek about three miles.

  • Division 1: $100 (per boat) 1st Place GUARANTEED $1,000
  • Division 2: $50 (per boat) 1st Place GUARANTEED $500
  • Pro Angler Tackle $100 for Div 1 BIG FISH

2010 Mississippi State Crappie Master Chammpion and CAT member, Fred Dooly will be sharing his crappie fishing "how to" at the club's June 8th meeting.


Come out to hear from one of the best crappie anglers and help us welcome one of our own.

Does anyone have any info on lodging for this event? I have never been there thanks in advance for any help

I don't. We're staying at the LOP Lodge but I think it is full. Do a search on small towns around the lake and I'm sure you'll find something suitable.

As I recall there was a place right off the bridge (north) and looked nice enough. Sorry, I don't remember the name.

I'll get something up this afternoon/evening.

Yeah, Lake O The Pines Lodge is full, I think, but might keep checking back. We also stayed a few years back at the Bullfrog Marina on Johnson Creek, but not sure if it is still there or not.

If nothing else, there is a hotel or 2 in Jefferson...not too far away.

You got Dishman'sTwin Cypress marina/hotel in Ore City at the Highway 155 bridge.

Also Tejas Village on the south shore and it's located in Jefferson.

You have lodging in Jefferson (about 20 minutes away) and Longview (45 minutes)

If you have a group maybe some of you guys might consider renting a house/cabin.

There's some new cabins on the north shore bout mid lake can't remember the name for-love-or-money very reasonable on prices You wouldn't have to travel far to fish.I'll try to get the info.

I stayed in one of the floating cabins last year in Johnson Creek.
that was kinda neat.
