Fuel system degredation from ethynol. Lines break down and stop up everything. Check the filter inside fuel hose from VST to electric pump.

You will have filters inside the fuel line that you cannot see. I would be checking for spark in all cylinders. You could be haveing a cylinder cutting in and out.

My 200 EFI was losing power, and I just had the injectors cleaned by InjectorRX in Houston. 3 of my injectors flowed less than 50%. The injectors were covered with a black residue, that I'm sure was the fuel lines dissolving due to ethanol. Go to an auto parts store and buy the latest fuel line they have in 5/16" diameter. Replace EVERY PIECE OF HOSE on your fuel system. The fuel filters won't catch this dissolved residue. It went right through mine, and I have an onboard filter as well.
I will be replacing my fuel lines on my outboard every 2 years or less from now on.
By the way, InjectorRX has a website at injectorrx.com They promise 24 hr turnaround, and my cost was $132.99 for 6 injectors, return shipping, $500 insurance and tax. And they are a local TX company.

Sorry I have been out of pocket! First off you are going to have to figure out if your problem is a fuel or ignition problem. If your XRI or EFI has a "U" shaped fuel line out of the bottom of the VST to the bottom of the electric fuel pump, it has an inline filter. Do not just remove it. First thing I check on these motors is for signs of fuel line and manual fuel pump diaphram degeneration, next the shift interrupt switch, next check each cylinders compression, then each cylinder for good spark, then everything else gets more complicated: checking the TPS, ignition advance module, stator, trigger, switch boxes, injectors, ECU on and on. Good Luck
