Ive been in Seguin for about a year and am currently boatless. Ive fished at Placid below the McQueeney dam with moderate results. If anyone knows of other places close by for a temporary shore fisherman and eventually a good place to drop a boat i would greatly appreciate it...
Also any place in New Braunfels or Comal County i would greatly be interested in

How do you get to Dunlap by foot? It is close enough I'd like to try it out.

Unless you know someone that lives on the lake, the only bank fishing on Dunlap is under the I-35 bridge. Ther eis a pay launch at Schumans beach, but no fishing unless you are renting an RV sight from them.

There's good fishing on the lower guad with no worries of boaters in seguin. Head towards belmont and take FM1117 on your right past the airfield. The guad interesects there and there is alot of bank fishina reas, we have caught lots of nice cats and bass there over the years... Also good fishing down the road in Luling Tx at Zedler Mill.

Drive down I-10 and take the exit like you're going to CMC. You can fish right under the bridge and there are a ton of fish biting around there.

Are the Guad lakes open again? I saw on the news the lake levels are down about 4 feet for inspections but supposed to be filled back up overnight.
Nevermind, I finally cot on the website and it says they are still closed unless you are retrieving property.

I used to fish at a campground called zipps. It was to the left of the bridge going east from san antonio.Great cats at night and huge sunfish.I,m sure it's not there any more.Too much boat traffic during the day.

I fished Placid this morning for a couple of hrs. caught a couple of dinks, but the skiers were beginning early so i got off. The water temp is in the mid to upper 80's and i'm sure going to get hotter with the heat wave this week.
If you want to drive a little further the river in Fentress or staples isn't a bad place to hang out, especially if you have a canoe.
