Central Texas Catfish and Moody Chamber of Commerce proudly present the championship catfish tournament for the state of Texas. The format will be a 2-day tourney fished on Lake Waco and Lake Belton. You choose which lake you fish on which day but you must fish both if you fish both days. Dates are May 14-16. Entry fee is $ 100 per team and $20 for Big Fish. First day leaders will get paid for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Your 2-day total weight will determine overall Champion, 2nd, 3rd,and so forth. 1st day money is just a bonus for the biggest weights of that day. Big Fish money will be paid on both days. This is a Central Texas Catfish point tournament and all rules and regulations fall under their jurisdiction. Weigh-ins will be in downtown Moody right on main street.Cash prizes will be paid to the top 10 teams and other prizes for 11-20th. We're shooting for 2,000 + to win and if you finish in top ten you will at least get your entry fee back. In addition to the tournament there will be a catfish dinner served on Sat during the weighin and all contestants get to eat free. Also there will be live music on Sat. Friday night registration will include team auction and catfishing seminar. It will be held at Greenbriar Country Club and food and cold beverages will be available. Sunday morning there will be free breakfast and church service .There will be boats and all sorts of booths on display downtown so if you can't fish the tournament at least come and enjoy the festivities downtown. What we are striving for is to make this an enjoyable experience for the catfisherman and their families and to make catfish tournaments a little more bigtime both in prize money and prestige. Later, I will post the schedule of events. If you would like to have a booth or rent a space for boats you can call Roy 254-723-1524 For tournament info call me or Jody Goodman 254-645-0180. Hope to see you there!

Man looked at your post and I have been 3 miles S. of somewhere. But only once would not go back, heard stories of strange things happening.
How many fish is weighed in? Is it one or a 10 fish stringer?

Regular Cen-Tex rules, 5 fish stringer, 10 rods, fish from bank or boat etc. centraltexascatfish.net for more rules. You can't get any further south than 3miles from somewhere.

Sounds like you guys are doing it up right. thumb I'm not sure they'd let me in a country club. Are rednecks allowed? grin Maybe they'd let me hold the towels in the mens room. eeks

Will this be an open tourney, or do you need to qualify?

Bama, it's called a country club cause it's in the country. You won't need your black tie. Last year Bro. Terry's talk and the team auctions were highlight material.

Hey Bama, no worries about the country club. Greenbrier is the kinda place that everyone is welcome. Anyone walks in there all fancied up they are liable to get kicked out. Usually a bunch of old timers sittin' around playing poker and drinking beer. Good folks.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
