was running the trolling motor yesterday, ran good for an hour, then prop stopped turning. all electronics worked but the motor acted frozen. took the prop off today, and had fishing line wrapped around shaft. shaft turns good and prop run good nopw that line is gone. question: anyone ever have this problem with their minn kota, and able to fix with just removing fishing line? wonder if theres more issues to be dealt with. any input greatly appreciated. Thanks LCD

As long as the fishing line was`nt going pass the seal, you should be good to go.

Replace the prop pin with a new one.

THe line on the armature rarely will stop the prop. You probably have another problem. Either got water in lower unit or the circuit board is bad .

makes sense Greg. After my initial post, went out the next day, and the batteries were run completely down. had a cool front blow in over night, but nothing was run on that boat or the circuit to use up the batteries. charged greater than 24 hrs to get batteries up. the prop runs, but seems to hesitate before engaging.something just does not seem right. the batteries are less than a year old and barely used, and had more juice even after running them 8 hrs a month ago on a fishing trip. the motor is under warranty, will get it checked out. thank you very much for the info.
