NOAA weather radio said wind gusts of 25 to 30 MPH and rain on its way- perfect! In wind like that there are no trailing pot lickers, you alone own the lake. We got on the water around 4:30. Busted 3 foot waves across the water and tried a few lenghtly drifts along some down wind shores. Lots of casting to the shallows with swim baits and a lot of nothing but a hard rockin boat. We took brakes in calm coves to regroup and sip multiple carbonated beverages. Finally found a niche along a long beach that gave up a good hit. Motored around and drifted it again and caught a few nice hybrid. Re-did that routine a few times, the trolling motor was out of the question, so we setteled down on a long anchor line that dropped us back within casting distance of the niche. Picked off several more keepers, a few shorts and some meaty sandies, all in three feet of water . All on natural colored sassy shad. Wild windy day, no rain.
