Well bite was on last night! I found these fish suspended at 20ft in 46ft of water. The bite has been slow to mod this month. ~story~ We normally night fish for sandbass and crappie around stucture in deeper water this time of year. We tried a spot on the point of Richards Slough next to the creek channel with only a couple of small ones and two keeper sandies. We soon moved to another new spot toward the north end on the lake by the channel. I found some bait fish stacked up at 20ft so we anchored and tried. Bite was slow for about 2hrs with only a couple. Just about the time we figured it was going to be a slow night my father was hooked up and was getting spooled on his light crappie rig. It was comical watching him land a 5lb hybrid on this rig but managed to get er done. About midnight the bite was on and we landed 7 hybirds over 5lbs and some keeper sandbass. Overall best night weve had this month.

Thank you and thanks for the warm welcome. I have been a monitor of TFF for a while but just decided to join the community so I could learn and help out! Yes it was a lot of fun and I do believe I will have to learn a little more about targeting these hybrids.

very nice bag of fish! i havent had much luck for the hybrids lately, just a couple of small sandies in the evening. but i didnt think to go out at night.
