If you don't want to be a coach, then back out of this thread...

My kids have recently shown an interest in saltwater fishing and I took them on a boat last weekend. Fun but they want to do more pier/jetty fishing (boat= too much up and down, up and down). They liked the Texas City dike, but its closed.

I want easy right now because I want to keep the kids interest.

What I am looking for:

Place to get bait and fish near by around Galveston. Would like to park near by to keep cooler etc.

If I fish 'your spot' what rigging is required?
-live bait?
-lures?
-etc etc

I dont require instant satisfaction, as they just want to get their lines wet and are patient. I will figure out the best day/time, but need help with the where and how.

I work in Workers Comp, HR and Security. If I can help you with that then let me know, cause your going to be helping me a lot.

Appreciate it,
Rich

hey vegas victim, i took my kids to bayou vista near hitchcock, there is louies bait camp near the bridge where the kids can fish, not the greatest place but if you cast towards the middle with some shrimp on the bottom, the kids will be entertained, my kids had a blast, no keepers but they caught some reds, black drum, and croakers, i took would like to hear of some new spots, but try this one.

A channel..

Double hook setup with a pyramid weight maybe 1oz, 2oz for distance. Line 8-12 just watch how you cast a heavier weight, a 10 foot 30 pound shock leader would help with that tho'.

Bait the top one with shrimp and the bottom with squid.

Wooo!
