BREAKING NEWS: 5/21/09

On Saturday August 15th, The Bass Pro Shop - Grapevine Tournament Series will be hosting a very special tournament to benefit the "Texas Dawgs" baseball team, who have been invited to compete in a baseball tournament in Cooperstown. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these kids and we can play a huge role in helping make this dream come true so all kids can afford to go on this trip. Proceeds from the entry fees will be donated directly to the team.

We are still gathering sponsors for this special event, however right now, the 1st Place boater will win a "boat wrap" compliments of "Blue Sky Graphics" in Fort Worth. The BIG BASS winner will be guaranteed $500 CASH! We will have another incredible raffle, all boats will receive a complete BTS detailing when they come off the water prior to the weigh-in, grilled hot dogs, chips and cold drinks for all! Much more to come!

Please mark your calenders and make plans to join us on August 15th. This tournament will be considered a "Major" event (Double Point Qualifier).

I am a coach for the DAWGS baseball team and my son Jonathan plays on the team. Every year, Cooperstown, NY, baseball hall of fame, invites 12 year olds to come play in a once-in-a-lifetime baseball tournament experience.

Scott Gordon has so graciously offered his resources and expertise in holding this tournament to benefit the DAWGS baseball team to offset a portion of the costs associated with the trip to New York. He has incorporated our fundraising tournament into a BPS Grapevine Series event, thanks so much Scott!

Please come out and join in for this will be a great event and great cause, too. The team will be detailing and wiping boats down with BTS Bow-To-Stern coming off the water, free food and drink, incredible raffle prizes (we will compile updated lists of prizes periodically), big money for high finishers, etc, etc.

Cooperstown is quite the place. I have been there many times but not since 1983 or so. lots of tradition going on there. I may have to donate to this one...oh wait we been donating a lot here lately, my partner does not know how to catch a fish...

This event will be incredible, we have so many people coming forward to donate and help out. This will be one to remember for sure!
