The Tackle Box at Canyon Lake in conjunction wit the Prostate Cancer Foundation present the 1st Annual Rudy Kirchhoff Fathers Day - Fish for the Cure - Bass Tournament Sunday June 21, 2009 at Canyon Lake Texas. With Benefit Fish Fry to Follow.

Proceeds for this event will be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Launch and Weigh in will be at Canyon Lake Marina on the North Side of the Lake off FM 306.

Shotgun Start at First light ~6am. Weigh in at 3pm.

This is an open team tournament with $150 entry fee per team with optional big bass fee of $10 per team

50% of the entry fee will be given to Charity, the rest will be in payout. Pays 1 place per 5 teams, so the more the better and the bigger pot.

1st Place will be 1/2 of the total prize pool with a minimum of $1000.


Shotgun Start at First light ~6am. Weigh in at 3pm. Results and Prizes will be awarded at the Fish Fry Benefit at The Tackle Box

Fish Fry Benefit

Fish fry will begin at 3pm at the Tackle Box. The fish fry is open to the public. All are welcome to stop in and get a plate.

Asking for a $10 donation per plate of Fish, Fries, coleslaw and water/tea/coffee

Raffle tickets will be sold on sight for prizes:

Just over 2 weeks to go. I have decided to retract the late Entry fee. It is $150 per team +$10 Big Bass (optional) from now until 5:59am Sunday June 21st.

Gonna be a good time with great food, FREE BEER!(had to capitalize that).

In addition : Mike Jones (7 year survivor) and Regional Director of Us Too-Texas will be out in the afternoon to talk to folks about Prostate Cancer awareness and education. He will have some information and be handing out the blue bracelets. Kinda choked me up when he came by the shop.

Travis, think we can start around 8 or nine am or give pontoons a head start lol. Shotgun start is more like a pump up bb gun for me. Should be a blast, the boy and I are looking forward to it.

Travis, what time will you be at the marina Sunday AM?

Probably around 5:15am or so. Will be checking in and doing live well checks.

Boat and Motor: Fishing boats may be used that are 14 feet or more in length. No barges or similar cumbersome crafts will be permitted.
Basic Boat Equipment: Every boat must have all required Coast Guard Equipment. In addition, it must have live well space, properly aerated, to adequately maintain alive a limit catch of bass. .

Is there a fee for late entry?

The flyer for the tournament on your web page does not say anything about it, but I just noticed that the entry form says that a late entry is $25 more.

When is it to late to enter without the penalty?
