Where else can you fish for $40, launch for free, get a shirt, have a good meal from Applebees, over 100% payback with all the door prizes and at the same time be supporting the youth of the community.

This year the Optimist "Big Bass Bonanza" Open Tournament was combined with the DFW Bass Masters 2nd Annual Kids Fishing Tournament. The gallery below shows pictures for both tournaments from Friday afternoon registeration, hot link sandwich meal furnished by Trader's Village, Saturday morning registeration and boat check, pledge to the flag, National Anthem and tournament start. Also, hourly weigh-ins, sponsor banners, trophies, winners, drawing for door prizes, riblet meal furnished by Applebee's Grill and Catering and kids helping to release the fish back to the lake.

Entries postmarked before May 3rd(Sunday) will be eligible for special drawings valued at $500.
Bring the kids out and sign them up for the Kids Tournament

$1500 guaranteed for the heaviest(legal sized) largemouth bass of the day.
Mouth closed and tail pinched. We average about 10 illegal fish per year. Last year we had 18" bass brought in.

All entries received for the Big Bass Bonanza will go to the Optimist Club of Grand Prairie to help in their efforts to support the youth in the community in whichever way that they can.
All cash awards and door prizes have been donated by various businesses and totals well over $10,000.00
Come out and register Friday night from 6-8pm at Lynn Creek Park and get some free hotlinks supplied by Traders Village or you can register Saturday morning before 7am.
Texas Roadhouse will be catering a dinner at 3:00pm on Saturday.

Isnt registration open until 10a.m. on Saturday. I want to fish but will not be there until about 9a.m.

Yes you are correct. You can register until 10am. If you bring kids make sure they get registered in the Kids Tournament. Last year I was doing door prizes and 1 kid was there and fished but never registered and I had to scramble to find a door prize for him.

What time is final weigh in?

from 2:45 to 3:00 is final weigh in for the Big Bass Bonanza.

Larry Jepson wins $1500 for 7.87# largemouth. 5th place was 6.87. I beleive their were about 90 entries. There were very few hours today that a below 14" wins the hour. Maybe 10 or 12 overs brought in.

Had a great time. That rain really had the fish biting. The way it looked, everybody got bit. Looking forward to next year. Great job guys.
