I have a 2000 Ranger 520VX and I have water in my fuel tanks. What is the best way to get the water out? Any suggestions?

BEST WAY I EVER FOUND IS TO ADD ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL TO THE GAS AND THEN SYPHON IT OUT, THE ALCOHOL MIXES WITH THE WATER AND GAS AND WILL BURN IN YOUR TRUCK WITH NO PROBLEMS. SAME AS HEET GAS LINE ANTIFREEZE (LOOK AT A BOTTLE OF HEET SOME TIME)

havent tried it myself yet, but i heard you can disconnect the primer bulb hose from the engine , leaving it plugged to the tank, and squeeze it to get the gas outta there.

i would siphon off any remaining residue though. get it all clean.

and like stick said, add that water-fuel filter. i've got one, works good.

Most of the fuel lines have anti siphon valves, so you will have to go through the fill you hope. The siphoning is the only way or pumping it out. The water often is from fuel stations and your vehicle has more tolerance to the moisture, though your outboard has sensitive sensors.

Your kids or the neighbors youth could have been playing with the garden hose also.

Seen about all!

Get a small 12v fuel pump from a local parts store 35 bucks add some alligator clips. Connect it to fuel supply hose for the outboard and pump it out or your not going to get most of the water out. If you can, let boat set inside with fuel caps off for 2 or 3 days. Then install the large water seperator fuel filter that has a water drain on the bottom of the housing-filter and check it often. Save fuel to use in lawn mower or wash parts with. Just went through this when a customer that said he would just put it in his pickup. I told him it was his pickup and he called me from the side of the road the next day. He had added a bottle of heat when he poured the fuel in his pickup. Good Luck
