I have been a lurker here for a long time now, and have learned alot from the fellow members here and for that I'm thankful to you fellas.
Well I decided it's time for me to contribute to this great forum.
I'll start my post by posting some information about my visit
to choke this day, me and my sons decided to pay a trip, not choke but the ramp at james daughtery park, we got there about 8:30am and decided to try for some whites up the frio, we went up about a mile or so where the river narrows down to about 25 to 30 feet wide, we started throwing crankbaits and got bit fast, I did notice that the prefered color of the morining for whites was a bomber model "A" white with chartreuse striped crankbait, I was using a watermelon red baby brush hog for bass (black), the boys were killing the whites casting into the channel, most were females as they were hitting the larger crankbaits, I was doing pretty good with the bass, I figured out that most of my bass were located on any stump or limb that had a little of hydrilla on it, that produced the most strikes. The action was great most of the morning until the clouds were done in by the afternoon sun, then the fishing got dead slow and we decided to call it the day. Sorry I did not take pics of the whites, but I did take a few of the animals usually seen at or around choke and one of my son catching a largemouth, his only of the day. Next time I'll concentrate on the fish I promise.

Enjoy these few pics.

Fred

Great pics Fred! Especially like the one of the toothy critter. I had a buddy of mine convinced that it would be a great idea to chase white bass upriver (where it gets too shallow to take a boat) on kayaks in the Nueces until he saw some pics of ole mr. alligator...

By the way how deep is the water out of the Daughtery ramp?

Joe

Wife to husband: "Why did you even buy that boat if your not going to use it?"
Husband to wife: "Honey can I going fishing tomorrow?"
Wife to husband: "NO! You've got more important things to do!"

Religion is a guy in church thinking about fishing. Relationship is a guy fishing thinking about God!
