My wife and I are looking into purchasing a boat for our family to fish primarily the bays and on a few perfect days to go offshore a little. We fish primarily around Port Mansfield. We have looked at a lot of boats and it leaves my head swimming a bit. We are considering a 24' so we can take others out with us from time to time. We have looked at the Skeeter ZX24V, Nauticstar 2400, Bluewave Pure Bay 2400, Haynie 24', Blackjack and Pathfinder. Our first choice at the moment is probably the Skeeter. However, the 24' Skeeter has a 14 -16" draft. Is that going to be a problem in the bays? We are not trying to go ultra shallow, but we don't want to just stay in the channels either.
They all seem like good boats. We sure would appreciate any first hand experience or advice you might have. Thanks in advance.

Haynie. Tough boat. Great to fish out of. I believe it will hold up much longer than the others. Good ride also.

I don't have much bay boat experince, but my step dad has that 21' tunnel hull Skeeter...that boat rides really well and fishes real good also. Tons of room, the whole family can go out, with a 9 year old casting, so there is plenty of room!
