So can you recommend a pawn stars type agent to work with me in getting it sold for a mil or two? I will break you off a piece if it works out! roflmao

Trying to wrap my brain around the amount of trouble someone went to.
What did they load it up onto?
How many dudes did it take to get it from whatever vehicle to that particular spot?

And the real question is why?

recap: the 16 year old kid was making a movie video that he hoped would get him accepted into a prestigious NY Art School... his father was connected to the movie industry and had the old piano stored in grandmas garage for years.. they set it on fire at a New Years party at their house, then decided to dump it on sandbar... no one knew how it got there and was all over the news.. lots of talk about whoever did it should be fined for dumping garbage.. several famous artists made up stories that they did it.. It became so famous the kid finally provided video to prove it was his idea... and agreed to have it removed as it looked like it might now be worth big bucks.. A commodities broker who had been watching it all play out in the media decided it might be worth snatching up since it was garbage and paid a couple thousand to bring it back to him before kid could remove it.

I was there early that morning fishing and decided to take a look since it was only a couple of miles paddle from one of my favorite fishing spots... the tow boat was on its way there as I was paddling back in... timing is everything.. roflmao To this day I think my 7 keys are worth more than owning the rest of the whole damn piano.. have a lot more pictures of that day in photobucket.. which I need to pay another $100 for this year to get access to them.. Damn photobucket..

There was a story that the owner paid big bucks to some restoration company to preserve the piano in the condition they found it... not making it look new..

I busted my knuckles breaking those keys off as they werent burnt all the way through or I would have gotten more..

my favorite picture from that day... my kayak humping piano, band member on left waiting for me to leave to begin his music video, and band member on right taking a pi$$.

My guess is EVERY part of that piano is a total loss

And if THAT piano is worth money, mine in my dining room must be worth millions. Mine actually has pre-ban ivory natural keys with ebony flat keys. The keys are worth a pretty good chunk. My piano was also displayed at the Worlds Fair. My parents bought it for me when I was 6yrs old from a music professor at UNT….this was back in the 70’s. [/quote]

Sounds like you are interested too! Maybe team up with Dan90whatever and put in a better bid! roflmao
