I’m going out to Lake Conroe for the first time looking for Bass. I super excited but not sure what to expect. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

Not easy right now and the lake is roughly 3’ low so be very careful on where you’re running, especially above the 1097 bridge which is midway on the lake.
Find the docks that have the deepest water and fish them thoroughly. It’s been the only thing consistent and I’ve been catching them on senkos and jigs flipping, pitching and skipping around them.
Good luck!

I would launch at Lakeview Marina, April Plaza, or Stowaway Marina. April Plaza and Stowaway are well protected from the wind. Launch fees around the lake run $15.

Stowaway has a very clean and easy ramp to use. It's always well protected and has good loading and unloading slips for you to use.
To me Stowaway is the best ramp to use and it spits you out main lake for the most part. Conroe is not that big and I can get everywhere easily from there.

Don't run under the bridges!!!! Hahaha. The troll will come and get ya! Seriously, they have 'an idle only under bridges' rule on that lake, and the local popo loves to hold fundraisers out there on the lake.

Don't run under the bridges!!!! Hahaha. The troll will come and get ya! Seriously, they have 'an idle only under bridges' rule on that lake, and the local popo loves to hold fundraisers out there on the lake. For many years Conroe has had a regulation requiring headway speed within a specified distance of any manmade object; bridges, docks, piers, bulkheads, etc. Next time you see the troll ask him / her how often they receive calls for property damage from wakes. You can thank all the boaters who have no clue that there are requirements for operation of a vessel; those people are why the River Authority had to adopt that regulation. John Kleimann, the late Justice of the Peace up there, was known for disregarding no wake zones in his pontoon boat, and he used to tell the deputies working Lake Patrol that "Pontoon boats can't make a wake." Like you, he saw protecting other peoples' property as "fundraisers" rather than law enforcement.
