So I am recently back into bass fishing and these new electronics are way smarter than I am. I have an HDS 12, 9 and 7 in my boat that I purchased last year. I am wanting to install a point 1 antenna. My question is, does it need it's own power source or does it get power from the HDS 12?
Thanks

Needs a power source. And you'll need to install a NEMA 2k network assuming you don't have one now. Simple - just a bunch of T's and connecting cables but it'll cost you about a $100 to get point 1 connected to all your units.

Thanks for the info. They are all currently linked via ethernet cables. Will I still need a cable to each unit from the point 1?

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!
