Me too, but I also have my own concrete launching ramp to pull my boat out for service. But I only run on one lake.

Tournament guys live in a whole different world. Even before living on a lake, I always steered clear of ramps during tournaments. I do understand the sheer frustration of waiting in line and watching people who have no concept that others are waiting.

I had the bottom of the boat worked on and at the time had the carper on the bunks redone.

First time fishing on Ray Roberts, I would bump up to the roller and every time I got out of the seat to go forward the boat would slip back of the roller.
Pretty comical on a busy ramp. Finally got someone to back the truck in a little further.

you mean pull the truck up a little? When mine does this the trailer is too deep. With bay boat I like it a little shallow and power up to the bow stop. If too deep it slides back and will float off the bunks sometimes. I just have to careful not to hit the bow stop too hard or I will be doing some more welding.

bass boat trailers are designed to be drive-on trailers....not float on or winch on...back your trailer to the correct depth, drive your boat onto the trailer and it will usually come to a stop about 2 ft short of the winch stop...then give your engine enough gas to push the boat up the remaining 2 ft until the nose hits the winch stop.....boat shouldn't slide back then....(and it won't slide off the trailer if you hold the nose against the winch stop with engine in gear and trimmed about halfway up while your partner slowly pulls up the ramp)

I'm an amateur and proud of it!

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

My aunt loaded my uncles ski boat once and sent the bunk boards flying. She became a pro at idling around the cove waiting for him to fix the trailer.

At this point I am a pro.....Tournament days are no big deal, I will go out before or just after they launch. I have to say I have never seen someone "dump" their boat.
