I need help. I have a 2009 Triton TR20 x3. Around 64 gps it begins to chime walk a little. At 68 gps it wont stay in the water. Does anyone know how to set this boat up to eliminate the chime walk.

Have a friend had that year model and tried different settings and props and could not stop it. He knows how to drive a boat and about driving thru chime walk and said it just got worse. Went back to a Skeeter.

Gotta put em on the plug to make em RUN... no same with Steve. They can be setup and there are those of us out there that can help with driving. Steves a great wealth of knowledge.

Steve set-up my Triton TR21 many years ago and it drives fine. Prop height, prop type, prop plugs, and knowing how to drive it.

I typically don't respond to toon owners, but this is just sad. 1: It's not the boats fault. 2: It's not a car on a highway. 3: You must understand the dynamics in play, until you do you'll never be able to drive.
Short version: Your prop is the cause of the wobbles. It's spinning clockwise with a tremendous amount of power. Your boat is trying to balance on a very small piece of angled fiberglass. The prop wants to take everything clockwise with it, the boat wants to go straight, those two forces acting against each other cause it to walk. Period, that's it. So, what do you do? It's all in your hands. You MUST learn to drive to prevent the wobble from starting. "Driving out of it" is really bad advice, it is not how you learn. This is WAY easier if you can find a seasoned driver to show you, twenty minutes on the water will save you months of frustration trying to figure it out on your own. If you're a jerk and nobody likes you, and you have to do it on your own, here's the lesson: Find a big lake with a lot of room. Preventing chiNe walk is a matter of constant left hand turns to compensate the right turn prop torque, so... Take off, do sweeping left turns, increasing speed and trim until you feel the boat climb up on pad, and you feel the balance against the prop torque. If it gets loose, trim down and start over until you feel it in your hands and your seat. Gradually increase speed and decrease the turn until you learn. If it starts walking, stop and start over.
Easiest visual: Riding a skateboard in a 40 mph cross wind, if you stand up straight you're on the pavement.

Sounds like you would be on the left bank if you keep turning left

you don't drive thru chine walk.. you prevent it from happening.
and setup and knowledge is how it's done.
