Last week, my friends and I flew down from Michigan to fulfill the dream of fishing for trophy bass on the famed Falcon Lake. Lots of time and energy went into planning this trip, and, in the process, we decided to book 4 days with local guide, Jay Greishaw. Of all the decisions we made, that turned out to be our best. From the beginning, Jay was personable, professional, and (most importantly) knowledgeable. He worked hard to put us in the right places with the right techniques, and it paid off in a big way. All three of us caught personal bests. We caught 119 bass and boated lots of big fish, including our best five of 10.10lbs, 9.0lbs, 8.8lbs, 8.4lbs, and 8.4lbs. All 4 days, our best five totaled more than 30lbs with 39.61 being our biggest single day limit. Jay made this the bass fishing trip of a lifetime for us (which is saying a lot for guys who have Lake St. Clair in their backyard). Whoever thought I'd see the day when we were actually saying, "Oh, it's just another five-pounder..."? Not kidding, guys -- I was totally spoiled by the end... If you're heading to Falcon Lake, and you want a guide, give Jay a try -- he's a great guy, and you won't be disappointed.

Congrats! Any pictures?

A good rule of angling philosphy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

All being told the fishing really seems to be picking up on Falcon low water or not.
I'm still in DFW myself persuing other interests but if your looking for fantastic outing be sure to contact Jay or Tommy. Both these guys stay on top of the fish from day to day and know the write spots and write people to point you to if there calendars are full.
Congrats to all and I will see you locals some time next week.
Tight lines for all..

Nicky p! Ck out my reports man. I give out some pretty good nuggets from time to time.....other times useless babble. Lol

These guys stayed deep their entire trip. They cranked ledges, points and humps. We also mixed in some 10 inch plum powerbait/zoom worms and mardi dingers. Both trigger and Crigged. Seeeeeeeeeelow. No surprise on crank colors. Citrus shad.....we used a lot of bd7 and 8 bombers last week too.

Jay, you are the man. Can't wait to get back down there with you and chase the big girls. Sounds like the fishing is picking up.

Jay did an awesome job putting me and my friend on them as well last summer. I can't make it this summer. But I will be calling on him again next year!!!

He is a really good dude!!

Awesome trip guys - a ridiculous day on Falcon can spoil the heck out of you! If you're going to roll the dice on a trip that far to go fishing, Jay is your best bet. Need to get a couple trips on the books with him soon...

Come on down man......thanks for the words but best bet might be a little strong, but like the gambling reference.
