Get a Huddleston. The silver green color works great in the ponds and lakes around here. ive caught fish on it in water with 6" visibility and 25' visibility. Can't go wrong with one. Its one of my confidence baits and i always have one tied on anywhere i go. ive caught bass from 1lb to 7lbs. It will definitely help you get bigger bites but you will still the smaller ones as well.

Get yourself out to deep water and drag jigs or maybe bounce 'em. But if you feel there is not structure go find yourself another spot that is also deep, and do the same, if you feel structure keep doing it. This will not get you numbers, but it is a great way to get yourself a new PB. Just drag or bounce a football jig on deep water till you find structure then stick to it. Sometimes I will even throw a Texas rigged creature bait!

You don't need trout for trout style swimbaits to work. Clear water and swimbaits is another myth. Vision is only one of many ways bass locate prey.

I agree with collincountytx, the biggest fish are going to own the best locations. So what is the best way to find these locations? I use the BBZ point system. We know what the structure elements are, points, creek channels, humps, ridges and flats. Find the structure and give it 1 point. If two structure elements come together give it 2 points. If it has a cover element, anything atop the structure such a tree, bush, grass, boulder etcetera, give it another point. If there is prey items on the spot add another point

Couple the seasonal patterns with the highest point value location(s)possible. Next learn what a 'Funnel' is. It's a feeding advantage that works just like a military ambush zone. When prey enters a funnel it is compromised. The prey's escape routes are limited and it's movement is predictable. Once you learn to identify the Funnel learn how to best position yourself to make the best cast to enter a funnel. Take your lure into funnels instead of away from them.

The Water Column, are the bass using the Top, the Middle or the Bottom of the water column. This will help with what technique(s) you should be using.

It will be up to you to determine what the bass want in terms of techniques and their associated lures. Focus on techniques and not any given lure. Techniques catch fish not lures. Lures are only part of a technique.

Highest Point Value + Funnel + Best Casting Angle + TMB = More Catches and Bigger Fish. This is the Big Bass Zone.
