Putting one of these on your cowling is lost on me...of the four brand new motors I've owned over the years road debris has never damaged it, I keep a coat of wax on it so bugs wipe right off at the end of the day...had non boaters pop it on the cast with little to no damage...so other than having an old sun faded un-cared for decal falling off don't want to pay for a re-fresh cowling why would anybody put one of these on ?...just curious...haters need not reply... Dirt dobbers, and tree limbs will do damage that a fresh coat of wax won't touch.

If you fish brush like I do they are a big plus on saving limb scratches and gouges on the cowling. On my HPDI I always removed the cover before I launched. When I got the SHO it came with the TS and I took it off only to clean the engine/service. When I sold the boat it looked brand new
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

Some of the newer motors you will pay way more for the decals than you would the cover.

+1 Tuff Skinz. These engines are water cooled, but need the air to breathe for combustion that's what the vents are for. My VMax doesn't run any hotter with it on.

You put a cover on one so it doesn't end up looking like this.

If I didn't have one on, my cowling would be scratched all to he ll. it looks pretty much brand new now. Justin Russell is where I bought mine last month, $135 I believe.
