Was fishing the south shore of the point that divides White Oak and came upon a gator at least 12 foot. I have cell phone pics, but don't know how to post them.

Earlier this spring there was a monster one in Double Oak, it would have gone 12 easy, it's head was wider than 12"inches

Tip of his snout to the front corner of his eye in inches will roughtly equal how long he is in feet. Of course, lots of guys have trouble with true lengths in inches.

Fishing several years ago in my 8' mini-boat, I saw one up in the south fork of Long Branch that swam under my boat. I was standing up, and could see the gator under both the front and the back of the boat at the same time. My guess would be about 10'. I think it might have been an old one, for most of its face was white.

that white oak gator is a resident and is there a lot, he usually shy's away when it gets busy in the spring though, in the fall if you go in there and don't see him it's an oddity,

It is a big gator for our area, but not anywhere close to 12ft. I think the slide measured 9'9" last year. Second pic is of the 12 footer that was killed 2 years ago in little caney. (not legally I might add) RIP

Saw one about 8-10' in Duck Call back in mid February. I pointed it out to a couple of guys and they finally saw it. That's the first one I've seen on Fork anywhere other than Little Caney.

If she eats too many of the 'protected' gar will the Warden write her a ticket? (and if a gator is over 6-8 feet it's a she)

I think it might have been an old one, for most of its face was white. If you are talking about the 1 in Possum, it became a nuisance. She had no fear of humans. I know back around '98 she was about 8' long then, when she would sun herself on the bank by the RVs, you could actually walk up to her and touch her, if you had the nerve. I believe it was Danny Frazier's son, Devin and some other people in the RV park moved her to the back of Little Caney north of the bridge. She was run over on 154 trying to get back to Possum.

That dude in little caney swam up bedside me back a couple years ago just as the sun was coming up .... snuck in between me and another boat - I saw him coming and the other guys didn't....I just kept fishing...all of the sudden the guys in the other boat saw him and lost it....they freaked, it was so funny, jumping all over the boat like little girls.
The gator went under just before it got to the bank, grabbed a big ole turtle and started chomping away....the other guys got the heck out of there and I had the whole area to myself! It was awesome.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

That's hilarious. Maybe it's because I was born on Caddo and have lived in East Texas all my life, but I realize there are gators in every lake I fish. I've seen them in almost every one of them. I don't bother them and they don't bother me.

Little Caney gator from a few years ago when the water was way down. He had a Lucky Craft sitting up on that chair...
