Kinda surprised that the poppers don't have feathers on the tail hook.

I thought the same thing--it's an easy fix, but the main reason I didn't get one of those.

They are good looking baits, a little cheaper than my usual sammy's and yellow magic's so I might give them a shot. I haven't seen them around locally yet, only at BPS in Shreveport.

Are these the same generic blanks that you can get from jannsnetcraft? I still can't believe I was told 5" senkos MSRP were $9.49, what the heck....

I've been getting into painting my own crankbaits and have come to realize that pretty much all hard plastic lures come from one of a handful of places.
You can take any lure on the market, send it to China, and they will reproduce it for you quickly sending you samples along the way. The quality control is actually pretty high. The idea of a $25 bait being "better" than a $4 bait really doesn't hold water when you start researching them.
Go to alibaba.com sometime and look for "unpainted lures". Holy mackerel.

Caution:
-camouflage cottonmouths
-stumps are perpetually 4" under surface
-unforecast windstorms
-gators that act funny
-game wardens off their meds

These look exactly like the baits coming straight out of Japan that are all over e-bay.
