Answer to #1 is that we do use scuba in Oklahoma. In Texas the laws are very vague and broad.�Fishing by the use of hands only. The use of any other fishing device while hand fishing (including but not limited to gaff, pole hook, trap, spear or stick) is unlawful. Here is the exact law posted on there website. Where it says any other device and then says in parentheses including but not limited to. This is where they make the argument for no scuba. I can assure you it will be in my boat for emergencies only. If someone gets hung up we will get air to them. You may NOT by any means use it to aid in the catching of a fish though. You probably will still get in trouble for having it and possibly get a ticket though. It is up to you whether you want to take the chance of having it in possession. I usually have one tank that has been recently filled to max psi and the only time we were given any grief by a warden while fishing a tourney last year, I quickly pointed out that the tank was still filled to max cap. and explained that I noodled with my wife and it was for emergencies only. After a 24 hr. tourney and still having a full tank, he didn't see any reason to ticket the discovery. however that may not always be the case. It is a problem to have to come up for air if you find a deep fish. My suggestion would be to leave those fish until you get more experienced at noodling. This is where a lot of folks get thereselves in trouble. They try to force the issue instead of sticking to there own limitations. And yes, sometimes you will have to work a fish for hrs. if you want to catch that fish. Most of the time we will move on to another fish, unless we know it will be a tourney winner.

Guess the guys at twok figure on having the first texas noodling tourney. Think they may be a little late on that one. May have to go check it out though sounds fun.
